Binary files that are stored by the Application Server are physically stored in a user configurable directory. The Application Server Database keeps links to these files. Due to technical reasons there are some cases in which the files stored on the file system are not deleted when the reference in the database is deleted. Therefore over time a bunch of orphan files might be left on the file system. From time to time it is therefore advisable to clean up these orphans. The Application Server has a specific job type you can use to clean up these orphans.
