Redbex implements a messaging system that allows to send messages to users and user groups. The messaging system supports full message traceability and message acknowledgement.

Via forwarding rules the messages delivered internally can be forwarded via other media (like email or SMS), this gives you the opportunity to use the power of Redbex's messaging system while still getting messages delivered via your preferred media.

The messaging implemented in Redbex differs from other messaging system like traditional email in the way that each message is stored only once and not copied for each recipient. Only when messages are forwarded via other media like email a (transformed) copy of the message is generated.

Each message sent is sent by a system user (the sender) and is addressed to other system users, user groups- Additionally a message can have (external) email recipients.

When a shut down of the Application Server is initiated the global setting Miscellaneous: Wait time before shutdown [s] defines a time interval that is used to finish currently running tasks before the server. Messages addressed to external recipients that are currently processed will not be sent to external recipients if the processing is interrupted by a shutdown.
