Observation monitoring is based on an observation monitoring definitions that are can be created by the user.

Observation monitoring definitions are Feature Directives and will therefore apply to all features to which the directive applies. Any number of observation monitoring definitions can therefore be in place for a specific feature.

An observation monitoring definition specifies the triggers to which the definition will react, the conditions that will be checked and the actions that will be performed if the conditions match.

An observation monitoring definition is valid if it reacts to at least one trigger, has a rule with at least one term and has at least one action associated with it. Only valid observation monitoring definitions will be processed by the Application Server.

Each observation monitoring definition has an observation monitoring definition owner which is automatically set to the last user who modified the observation monitoring definition.
