The Application Server makes use of text templates in various places. Text templates are blueprints of text that can include variables, filters and other expressions. When a text template gets processed by the text template engine it will parse and evaluate markup text found in the text template and will render an output text.

Example: the template Hello {{name}} will be processed into Hello World if the context in which the template is processed provides a the value World for the markup {{name}}.

Which markups can be parsed by the template engine depends on the context in which the template is used.
