Erroneous approval workflows

Scroll Prev Up Next More

Even if an approval workflow is closed with status approved and the feature or the set of observation the workflow was created for is therefore considered as approved, it is possible to at a later point in time the approved data is found to be erroneous.

Revoking an approval is not possible since other persons or systems could have already made decisions based on the approved data and there is no guarantee that a revocation would be published to all of these persons or systems. But to document this specific situation the system provides the possibility to mark a closed approval with approval status approved as erroneous and to store an erroneous approval comment.

Marking an approval workflow erroneous does not automatically mark it as obsolete. To mark an active approval workflow as erroneous the user must have previously approved the workflow.

The Application server stores who marked the workflow as erroneous.

Even if the workflow is marked erroneous the Feature or observations it was conducted for will stay in Approved state. Marking a workflow as erroneous is really just a informative flag.
