Some parts of the Redbex Application Server can be updated without actually installing a new version of the Redbex Application Server. The Application Server loads these so called modular updates from the Redbex Distribution Server.
On the first start up of the Application Server (after installing the software) the Application Server will automatically try to perform a modular update, future updates are then manually initiated by the user. Modular updates are loaded from the Distribution Server - it is therefore mandatory that a connection to the Distribution Server can be initiated.
Note: Running the modular updates will automatically log out users from the Application Server who do not have the Create user session when server is closed (13) permission. Additionally the server will be temporarily locked, so that no other user can login.
Note: Depending on the contents in your database a modular update might take from several minutes up to several hours, during a modular update users won't be able to access the Application Server!
Table 1 lists the parts of the Application Server that are installed/updated by the modular update.
