The frequency quantity is defined as the number of cycles per second of a periodic phenomenon.
Ad (1): Rotational frequency (e.g. of a machine) is usually not expressed in Hertz but in rotations per minute (RPM). RPM is not a SI unit but is used widely and therefore supported by the Application Server.
