Show/Hide Toolbars

The Application Server provides the possibility to define the visibility of views therefore of parts of the view structure. A view can be defined as being hidden or non hidden. Hiding views can be a comfortable way of clearing up the view structure without loosing the created views.

A view's visibility information is stored along with the view. Even when a view is hidden, the privileges defined for that view are still evaluated. Do not use view visibility if you want to prevent access to features, since it is totally up to the client how the visibility information is used.

A view's visibility can be defined globally (for all users) or for a single user. A view is visible if it is globally visible and visible for the current user. I.e. a view is hidden if it is hidden either globally or for the current user.

Setting a view's global visibility requires the view permission Modify view (0). The visibility for the current user can be set without any special permissions.
