On installation of an Application Server Database the installer will set the collation of the database to the database server's default collation.

In SQL Server the collation is used for defining the code page that is used to store non-Unicode data and for sorting non-Unicode data types. Since The Application Server uses no non-Unicode data types the collation setting will not influence the Application Server.
