The Application Server uses global settings for basic configuration of the system. Global settings can be read by any user and can be modified by users with the system permission Modify global settings (4). Global settings are implemented as configuration settings.

Some global settings can greatly influence performance and security of the overall system, the default values are set to reasonable values but you have to adjust them to fit to your environment. Global settings are a UConfiguration, following chapters describe the settings in each group.
