Before a map can be rendered the the map content and the map layout has to be defined. These elements make up the map view definition. Map view definitions can persisted as map view templates for later reuse.
The options for defining the layout and content of a map view can be logically structured into the sections described in table 1.
Definition |
Description |
Map configuration |
A UConfiguration containing settings that affect the map view as a whole. These settings do not influence what is drawn but mainly how things are drawn. |
Data filter |
If the map view displays observations the data filter can limit the observations. |
Layers |
Layers define what data is shown on the map and how that data is visualized. Each layer is an instance of a predefined layer type. Each of these types defines its own UConfiguration with settings that allow you to fine tune what is shown and how things are visualized on this layer. |
