The system supports message acknowledgment. I.e. a defined set of acknowledging recipients actively tell the sender that they acknowledge the receipt of the message. In contrast to the delivery notification you might know from your email system, message acknowledgment is done actively by the user and the acknowledgment is not depending on the client and therefore reliable.
A message acknowledgment cannot be undone.
The sender defines who shall to acknowledge the receipt of the message by defining these recipients as acknowledging recipients. Additionally the user can set a acknowledgment due date. The acknowledging recipient has then the possibility to acknowledge the message within the defined acknowledgment time span.
For the recipient a message has always one of the acknowledgment status listed in table 1. For the sender of a message the message has always one of the acknowledgment status listed in table 2.

Sender acknowledgment information
The sender of a message can choose to be informed whenever one of the recipients acknowledges that message. An acknowledgment information is a message automatically sent by the system where the sender is the acknowledging user and the recipient is the person who requested the sending of the message. The subject and body of the message will be an automatically created text.
