After starting the Redbex MappRover App you are first taken to the login page.
MappRover is part of the Redbex Software System which is designed as a multi-user system with a mighty authorization engine. MappRover is designed in a way that allows different users to share a tablet device but still connecting to the Redbex Application Server as different users. Therefore it is necessary that you identify yourself with a username and password on every start of the MappRover . |
Do you have a defined connection to a Redbex Application Server?
Before you can login you have to have a active connection (i.e. MappRover must know how to contact the Redbex Application Server). If this connection has not been defined before (by an administrator or by another user on the same tablet) MappRover will tell you that you have to create a connection first (see previous step for more details).
If a connection is already defined you are presented the login page where you can input username and password. The name of the connection is shown on top of this dialogue (figure 1:1)
Figure 1: Dialogue asking for user name and password
Username and password
The username and password you use to authenticate yourself against the Redbex System will be given to you by the Administrator of the Redbex system. If the Redbex Application Server is connected to an Active directory the username and password will be your Domain user and Domain password.
Enter username and password and select Log in (figure 1:2)
Note: When logging in with a specific username for the first time you have to have a connection to the Redbex Application Server to be able to authenticate. The authentication data will then be cached, so that for future logins with the same username you do not have to have a connection to the server
Automatic logout
MappRover will automatically log you out after more than eight hours of inactivity.
