The Application Server supports importing of DEM data from ESRI ASCII grid files. The location data found in the import files are interpreted in the context of the coordinate system the DEM belongs to.

A DEM might consist of millions of data points and might therefore get huge in terms of the storage space needed. Redbex will internally separate each DEM into tiles to allow for efficient handling of DEM data. We still recommend that you import only that DEM data you really need to minimize the processing time needed.
