An Alias for a feature is an alternate name for this feature that is defined within an alias scheme. Within an alias scheme aliases must be unique, i.e. no two features can have the same alias within the same alias scheme.

As feature names the aliases have a maximum length of 200 characters.

To add, modify or delete an alias you must have the feature permission Modify (1). Note that if an alias scheme is deleted all the aliases in the scheme are also deleted, therefore users with the domain permission Manage alias schemes (7) can delete aliases if the whole alias scheme is deleted.
