An Alias is an alternate name for a feature. Each feature in Redbex has a feature name that is intended to identify a feature. However since Redbex usually manages features coming from different source it may well be that a feature has multiple names, e.g. a building might have a official id in the land-register but may additionally have a local (more human readable) name.

The circumstances in which a feature is known under an alias is modeled as Alias Scheme in Redbex. In the example above the alias scheme would be called Local name .
