Domains are used to separate content in the system according to the needs of the user. Domains are used to organize features, sensors, classifications, alias schemes and others more. Any content that is organized using domains can only be assigned to exactly one domain.

Domains are organized in a tree like structure - the domain structure. The propagation of content assigned to a specific domain is different for different types of content.
