This section describes the process of installing the Redbex Application Server Database on a Microsoft SQL Server database server. Microsoft SQL Server itself is not part of Redbex. It has to be downloaded, installed and licensed separately. See chapter SQL Server for more details.

The installation process consists of pre-installation tasks, the execution of the Application Server Database Setup Program and post installation tasks. For a hassle free installation we strongly encourage you to follow the sequence of tasks as described in this section.

Although installation of the Application Server Database is usually straight forward, you should bring basic knowledge about Microsoft SQL Server to understand the following explanations.
