This example is the smallest possible installation scenario with the least amount of configuration work to do.

If you decide to use this scenario you will install the Application Server Database, the Application Server and the Smart Client on the same computer.

When to use this scenario

•Only one person uses the system

•The system is not required to be running 24/7 (no continuous data import from other systems etc)

•You are not planning to access the Application Server from other clients via the Internet.

Pro

•Fast installation

•Minimal configuration work needed

•Data transfer between tiers is extremely fast

Con

•Backup must be handled

•Load for database, processing and client on the same computer

•Not very scalable (e.g. when a second user wants to use the system you might have to change your scenario)
