For properties of most property types you can define default values. Whenever a new instance of a property structure is instantiated the properties that have default values defined in the current property setting context are set to that value. Additionally the user can reset a properties value to it's default value. Besides the user defined default values the property structure itself might define system default value that is not modifiable by the user. If a user defined default value and a system value are given the user defined default value overrides the system default value. When a property default value is defined it is not checked against the validation rules of the property.

The effective default value used is determined by a first match approach.

Note: the default value is copied to the property data and not linked, therefore if you change the default value later on it will not change any property values.
