Once you purchased Redbex and accepted the end user license agreement you will receive a unique product key that can be used to request a license code for the Application Server.
Requesting a license code is done via the internet by sending a license code request to the Distribution Server. The license code request is a piece of encrypted data partly based on information you provide during the licensing process and partly based on data that is generated by the Application Server. The user provided data in the license code request is used to keep record of customers. You should specify a valid email address during the licensing process since important information will be sent to that email address. For a summary of data included in a license code request see table 1.
When the Distribution Server receives a request for a license code it checks if the product key in the license code request is a valid and product key and will then generate a license cod according to the purchasing record and the data provided with the license code request. The generated license code will only be valid on the machine and the Application Server Instance on which the license request code was generated.
When reinstalling the Application Server on another machine, when changing the hardware or operating system, or when changing the instance identifier the license code will become invalid. In that case you will have to re-request a license code. Requesting a license code with a license request code that includes a serial number for which there was already a license issued might not be possible. Pöyry Infra GmbH enforces some restrictions on that to hinder license fraud. Therefore if you face problems when re-requesting a license code please contact support.
After a successful request for a license code, all other licenses that were issued for the same product key will automatically be revoked.
